Slow Days: A Field Guide

Guests sometimes ask what there is to do here. The honest answer: as little as you can manage, done as well as possible.
A field guide, then. Morning — the pool, a swim before the sun gets serious, breakfast stretched past all reason. Afternoon — the library shelf and a long chair in the shade, or a massage in the garden if stillness needs help. Evening — a tuk-tuk down the coast to Galle Fort, home in time for the day’s catch.
The art of the slow day is refusing to feel guilty about it.
Repeat until your shoulders drop. It usually takes two days. We recommend five.
